HedgeHog Cam. Micro-internship Project
This micro-internship project ran to simulate a normal working week, 8 hours a day for 5 days. Monday morning there was a lecture where 3 different briefs were released; Immersive-multi-sensory remote healthcare, personal carbon footprint monitoring and sustaining urban wildlife. I chose sustaining urban wildlife as I felt was a subject I could connect with.
I began by researching the declining population of different species and I came to the conclusion that hedgehogs would be the most appropriate choice as their becoming extinct. The next step was rapid concept generation where I drew the first ideas which came into my head. As this was a short project I wanted to get into CAD as soon as possible. I developed my concept within SolidWorks as I can change small things and see the results instantly. Once I had a concept which I was happy with I moved into Keyshot where I began rendering. I used Photoshop to add an image of a hedgehog which helps to give the product context and purpose. The outcome of this was a hedgehog enclosure that houses an array of cameras for monitoring and data collection purposes. This enclosure also acts as a safe space for a hedgehog.
